There is a palpable sense of excitement as this dream squad gathers its creative resources. More than merely a TV show, Three Little Birds is a moving tribute to the past. It’s essentially a fascinating six-part documentary that traces Winifred’s life from birth to old age.

Sir Lenny Henry, a famed British comedian, conceived of and created the ITV1 drama Three Little Birds.

The historical piece is an inspiring ode to immigration, as it follows three courageous ladies as they embark on a cruise ship bound for a fresh start in the UK (the “mother country”).

In his own words, “It’s based on my mom’s story of arriving to Britain in 1957,” Sir Lenny Henry said of his creation. As the blurb puts it, “It’s about the difficulties and triumphs of young black women establishing their lives in the UK.”

The first episode of Three Little Birds, a six-part series airing on ITV1 during Black History Month 2023, will air on Sunday, October 22 at 8 p.m.

Each episode airs at the exact same time every week on ITV1, and it will also be available as a set in a box on ITVX & BritBox in the United Kingdom and the United States, respectively.

Three Little Birds Storyline:

According to Sky, Lucy Savage (Juno Temple), portrayed in the film by Juno Temple, travels to the Tangier International Zone in the 1950s.

Upon stepping off the transatlantic juggernaut, she finds herself in a strange and sensual environment, far from the love and adventure she had hoped to find.

She’s just been married, but she’s already run across some strange people in her new neighborhood. The country’s liberties are explained to her by a dominatrix called Cherifa Lamor (Yumna Marwan).

Leah (Rochelle Neil) & Chantrelle (Saffron Coomber), two Jamaican sisters, are attracted to the United Kingdom after the Windrush disaster of 1957 in the hopes of starting over.

They go because their elder brother Aston (Javone Prince) has already relocated there and has asked them to find him a bride.

The sisters get their good friend Hosanna (Yazmin Belo) to come along for the ride, but they quickly realize that their new life doesn’t live up to the promise of a musical swing, Hollywood starlets, and great attire.

They have to deal with more than simply the inclement climate in Britain. Over time, we discover how they bravely overcame the challenges of assimilating into British society and see the awful realities of the life they left behind.

The year is 1957, & the two lively Jamaican sisters Leah and Chantrelle are the stars of this charming time capsule of a story. In an adventurous effort to flip the page and begin over, they have set their eyes on the beautiful coastlines of the United Kingdom. Aston, the older sibling, has already made a home on the other side of the Atlantic.

But there’s more to this romantic twist than meets the eye: he specifically wants a spouse from their own country. Our courageous sisters recruit the help of Hosanna, a trustworthy friend who is as captivated by the wonders of this novel land as they are. The splendor of their expectations, however, starts to fade as the journey progresses.
