Given Bradley’s remarks about employing Shang-Chi, the Eternals, along with other Phase 4 characters, we can presume that at least some of the live-action performers will provide the voices.
Simu Liu, Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, Florence Pugh, and many more A-list Hollywood actors and actresses appear in these films, and What If…? has shown that Marvel can get some of its A-listers to contribute a few lines.

What If Season 2 Storyline:
Being an anthology series, What If…?’s second season’s storyline might take any turn. Expect a combination of Elseworld adaptations a la Marvel’s Zombies and MCU reimagining’s like Captain Carter. The original intention for What If? season 2 was for there to be ten episodes, similar to season 1.But according to Winderbaum, pandemic delays forced the reduction of both seasons to only 9 episodes, pushing a scheduled season one episode into season two.
According to Winderbaum, “We had to push an episode into seasons two.” “Honestly, it was a COVID influence, like everything else. Fortunately, we get to see it in the following season of the program since there was one episode that simply wouldn’t finish in time.
There was no indication of whether any more scheduled episodes had been moved back into a future season three, although Winderbaum indicated that the second season would likewise only have nine episodes.
A formal storyline summary for the second season has not yet been made public. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, “What If…?”‘s chief writer AC Bradley gave some details on what viewers might anticipate.
The show’s anthology structure will continue in Season 2, which will include brand-new tales set in the universe. Bradley said that he intended to include more material from the MCU’s Phase Four, which includes more recent movies like “Eternals,” “Shang-Chi,” & “Black Widow.”
