‘All The Light We Cannot See’ Season 2 Storyline:

Both of them are lonely, in fact. Marie-Laure has to focus on her own well-being and that of her uncle, who is still dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after World War I, before she becomes aware of her father again.

Aria Penn State doctoral student Mia Loberti, in her first acting role, portrays the title role of Marie-Laure. Levy sent out a worldwide call for persons with limited eyesight and ultimately cast Loberti.

The director was interested in casting a blind actor or actress since the show’s narrative requires the main character to become blind when she’s six. Levy finally discovered his leading man after seeing a number of home movies.

Levy told Collider how he decided on Loberti for the lead role. It was open to everyone, whether sighted or not. Actors weren’t the only ones who could do it. This audition was provided to me by someone who is not a performer. After winning a Fulbright, Marie decided to pursue a doctorate in rhetoric.

Aria also made her first auditioning attempt for this role. With each Zoom & callback, I was becoming increasingly confident that there may be something unique there.

Alum Worner is a bright young guy with a dark complexion who works as a radio broadcaster for the German armed forces. His task is to track out illegal transmissions.

He is portrayed by Louis Hoffman. Daniel LeBlanc will be played by Mark Ruffalo. In Paris, Daniel is employed as a locksmith at a famous museum. Etienne LeBlanc, portrayed by Hugh Laurie.

Anthony Doerr’s best-selling and Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name from 2015 serves as the inspiration for the new series.

In the closing days of World War II, the lives of a blind French girl & a German soldier cross. When the Germans invaded France and captured Paris, Marie-Laure & her father escaped the city while concealing a valuable diamond from the Nazis.

Marie-Laure and Daniel, who are being pursued by a cruel Gestapo officers who wants the stone for his own selfish reasons, end up in St. Malo, where they stay with Daniel’s reclusive uncle who broadcasts underground radio as part of the resistance.

“Yet here in that once-idyllic seaside city, Marie-Laure’s path additionally collides inexorably with the unlikeliest of kindred spirits: Werner, a brilliant teenager enlisted by Hitler’s regime for tracking down illegal broadcasts, who instead shares an unspoken connection to Marie-Laure as well as her faith in humanity and the possibility of hope.”

It goes on: “Deftly interweaving the lives of Marie-Laure & Werner over the course of a period, All the Light We Cannot See tells a narrative of the extraordinary strength of human connection a beacon of light that the can lead us though even the darkest of times.”

The story follows two main characters whose lives appear to be moving in opposite directions until they both end up at the French seaside resort of Saint-Malo. Marie-Laure, a blind French girl, and her father flee German-occupied Paris for her uncle’s isolated seaside villa in an attempt to protect a valuable diamond from a Nazi Gestapo officer.

“Meanwhile in Germany, a young orphan named Werner learns that his father has a unique talent for fixing radios. Enlisted by Hitler’s government, he’s set to work investigating illicit transmissions but find none until a certain moment, a girl’s scream crackles to life on a dead frequency he used to listen onto as a youngster.

The radio connection between Werner and Marie-Laure is put to the ultimate test as bombs fall on Saint-Malo. Can they keep their trust in humanity if they make it through this?”

Written by Steven Knight and directed by Shawn Levy, All the Light We Cannot See tells the story of a blind French girl named Marie-Laure and her dad, Daniel LeBlanc, who are forced to escape Paris with a priceless diamond as German soldiers surround the city. Reinhold von Rumpel, a brutal Gestapo official, relentlessly pursues them on his mission to get the gem.

The father and daughter would soon flee to France to be with Uncle Etienne, a resistance radio broadcaster based in Saint-Malo.
