Atsushi Nakajima, a young guy abandoned by an orphanage, intervenes in Osamu Dazai’s suicide attempt. A hitman by the name of Sakunosuke Oda has a peaceful existence in the Port Mafia because, although being good at his profession, he will not murder his adversaries.
In his spare time, he writes a book with the help of young Osamu Dazai & Ango Sakaguchi. When Ango suddenly vanishes from the mafia, his bosses assume he has defected to the rival group Mimic and begin treating him as a spy.
Ango is revealed to be a multispy after Oda saves him. Ougai Mori, head of the Port Mafia, has Oda lose his desire to life by staging the murders of the children he was caring for.
Oda intends to seek revenge for the kids by going up against André Gide, the commander of Mimic. Dazai comes across Oda as the battle is winding down and begs him to leave the mob and begin a new life in which he does not need to murder.
