Burning Betrayal (Movie) Storyline:
As Decider put it, “skip it,” because “Director Diego Freitas has a fetish for dramatic lighting but significantly less control over stuff like tonal consistency and coherent narrative, not that anything that matters when you’re likely tuning in for the lusty escapades.”
An other source, Heaven of Horror, stated: “In terms of style, you might anticipate anything along with the likes of Basic Instinct, Fifty Shades of Grey, and the Polish Netflix movie 365 Days. That is to say, there is a great deal of sexual tension and plenty of hot situations.
“Oh, and it’s also a thriller, albeit the narrative is fairly weak, so you can see most of the turns from a mile away. But I will say this much: the visuals and settings are stunning. It is what it is and doesn’t pretend to be anything else.
But not all reviews were negative; Martin Cid Magazine asked, “Do that you fancy an erotic thriller?” This film contains both elements, without relying too much on either one.
It’s not a very suspenseful thriller, but it does have some sexually charged moments. Its unique quality is its comical twist, making for a really enjoyable package.
Babi is having trouble focusing on the wedding dress fitting because of the vivid dream she had the evening before. In the dream, she rode a motorbike through a stormy tunnel and had a passionate tryst with a very handsome guy who was not her fiancé.
Paty (Camilla de Lucas), her closest friend and coworker, tells her while she lingers around at the fit, swiping both ways on hookup apps, that maybe it’s a warning not to settle down early enough.
After all, Paty, who is sexually daring and open to everything, has been round the block more than twice as often as Babi. She has been exclusively dating Caio (Micael) for the last five years. So Babi reasoned.
Not until her bachelorette party, when an anonymous sender presents Babi with images of Caio’s extramarital antics and the male stripper dances away into the night.
All of a sudden, it made sense why he had been making so many business visits to Rio. Babi is devastated, ashamed, and furious when she learns that Caio has had an affair with another woman for two years thanks to her unconventional research.
Although Babi is able to pull herself together with the support of Paty and her closest friend Thiago (Bruno Montaleone), who is also her lovely, bespectacled work colleague, she is still determined to get vengeance on her ex and hopes to uncover dirt on him.
Given that Caio’s company is one of her firm’s top customers and that she and Thiago just attended a court hearing where Caio faced questions about an alleged money-laundering operation, it’s not surprising that she felt uncomfortable.
At the time, Caio had written off his court appearance as nothing more than a formality, and it would have been easy to agree with him if not for the presence of the “hot judge” Marco (Leandro Lima).
And there’s nothing naive about the way she feels about Marco the second time she sees him, at his office, & the third time, when she joins his motorcycle club and they race down the coast at breakneck speeds and have an evening together that equals the person in her dream.
Babi ends their relationship with Caio after discovering his infidelity. She and her buddies break into his workplace in an effort to learn who his lover is.
Babi leaves the courthouse and receives a call from the trial’s presiding judge, Marco Ladeia, who informs her that she forgot a folder there. Baby meets the judge before returning to court to obtain the file.
Caio, who has been patiently awaiting her to arrive so he can inform her he would never see his secret love again, appears to her shortly after their encounter.
After ignoring him, Babi joins Marco for a drink. The judge and Babi had a pleasant evening on their accidental date until he spots a lady at the bar and abruptly ends the evening.
To mark her independence from Caio, Babi plans to engage in all the behaviors she normally avoids. She begins by signing up for a motorcycle club & going on a weekend getaway with her newfound friends.
Marco seems to be among of the riders quite quickly. They had sexual relations at the retreat. Someone secretly records them having an intimate moment and transmits the footage to her.
After return from the retreat, Babi views the film and wonders whether Thiago is behind it, as he has already shown an interest in having sexual relations with her.
