It’s not based on any one King story but has many of the same themes, locations, and characters as the master of horror. Several of his books (including Cujo, The Dead Zone, and Needful Things) take place on Castle Rock.
Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw established the series in 2018 to convey interconnected tales in an anthology style. Castle Rock Season 3 Renewal Status

Castle Rock Season 3 Storyline
In Season 2 of Castle Rock, we finally get to glimpse some of the hidden corners of the town. Most of it is sullied by Reginald’s Pop’ Merrill’s shady dealings. The second season concluded on a poignant note, startling viewers with a revelation they hadn’t seen coming.
Annie continues on as if nothing has changed in her life. There were just as many mysteries left unsolved at the end of Castle Rock Season 2 as there were resolved. And Season 3 of Castle Rock may finally answer questions such, “Where is Henry Deaver?” Is the angel the same person as the youngster, or someone else entirely?
Season 3 of Castle Rock, if it happens, will likely include new storylines and characters since the show is structured as an anthology. Annie and Joy’s tales were tragically wrapped up in the second season. However, the residents of Castle Rock were left to deal with the fallout from the events that took place at the Marsten House.

Castle Rock Season 3: Why was it canceled?
Hulu’s decision to end Castle Rock after two seasons had nothing to do with ratings or viewership. Instead, they decided to finish the series after Annie Wilkes’s narrative since that was how they had always envisioned it. A variety of causes contributed to this, including an increased emphasis on HBO Max throughout the corporation. While this may be the case, it’s also possible that there are just too many wonderful Stephen King tales that might be adapted into television if the emphasis were shifted away from the program.
Castle Rock Season 2 Review
The second season of Castle Rock has been well received by both reviewers and viewers. It was called “remarkable insanity” by IGN, and Lizzy Caplan’s performance as Annie Wilkes was singled out for acclaim for being so compelling that it even won the approval of Kathy Bates. The new twist on classic Stephen King stories was also praised by The Verge.
