The best-selling book by Ann Napolitano, Dear Edward, comes to life on Apple TV Plus. Connie Britton, known for her roles in 24 and Friday Evening Lights, and Taylor Schilling, known for his role in Orange Is the New Black, are at the head of the cast.

The drama series was produced by Jason Katims, who also created Friday Night Lights. It’s about a 12-year-old boy named Edward Adler, who is played by a new actor named Colin O’Brien, and how he manages to survive a crash landing that kills everybody else on board, such as his family.

Connie Britton and Jason Katims, who worked together on Friday Night Lights, are back with apple’s New Drama series Dear Edward, now with a release date. The first 3 episodes will come out on Friday, Feb. 3, TVLine has learned, and new episodes will come out every Friday after that.

The streamer also has released two photos from the show, giving a first look at how Ann Napolitano’s best-selling book will be turned into a TV show. Edward, a 12-year-old boy played by Colin O’Brien, is the only person who lives through a terrible plane crash that kills his whole family.

According to the official synopsis, “as Edward and other people affected by tragedy attempt to make sense of living after the collision, unexpected friendships, romances, and communities are formed.”

Apple TV+ is keeping the tear-jerking scenes for the occurrences and maybe the trailer, thus the first photos just demonstrate the lead actors having fun with each other as they try to cheer up the title character.

The pictures don’t say much about where they were taken, one of them looks like it was taken at a party because there are balloons in the background. When the trailer comes, we’ll know more.

On February 3, 2023, the first 3 instances of Dear Edward will appear for the first time on Apple TV. After that, a new episode will air every Friday until April 24, 2023. There are 10 episodes.

Dear Edward has gotten a group of well-known and respected actors to play in it. A lot of people read the book, so actors have been eager to be in this series, which is sure to be popular. Colin O’Brien, who played Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, will play Edward Adler. O’Brien will also play a young Willy Wonka in the forthcoming prequel movie Wonka as well as the Halle Berry sci-fi drama This same Mothership.

Edward Adler, who is 12 years old, gets on Flight 2977 in New York City. The plane is going to Los Angeles. But the plane crashes before they get to their destination. Except for Edward, everyone on board dies in a crash.

Edward is taken to live with his Aunt Lacey or Uncle John after he gets better. Edward isn’t sure if he wants to move in with them, but when they give him the nursery room, he can’t sleep. This is because Lacey has had a lot of miscarriages.

His aunt wants to introduce him to her neighbor as well as her daughter Shay. The two kids are attracted to each other right away, so Edward goes to see her and starts napping on her floor. This brings them closer together, and they become friends very quickly.

One of the most important parts of the story is that Edward has become famous because he was the only person to survive the collision of Flight 2977. People desire to be with him and think that he has special qualities. But he doesn’t want to be in the spotlight. His anxiety and pain are too much for him to handle, and he doesn’t know why people act the way they do.

Edward also finds out about letters sent to him after the accident, and he has to figure out how to deal with the fact that they were kept from him for his good.
