Designated Survivor: 60 Days Story
The 60-day installment of Designated Survivor premiered on TVN and will be available on Netflix beginning July 1, 2019. The film chronicles the life of Park Mu Jin, the minister of the environment in South Korea. He had no interest in politics and his life was going well until President Yang Jin Ma fired him for failing to address environmental contamination. When Park got into a fight with the EPA about pollution from imported automobiles, he was removed from his role in the free trade discussions with the US.
When South Korea’s president chose to make peace with North Korea the next day, a bomb went off, killing him and all his ministers. Park Mu jin, who had been forced to resign, took over as president for 60 days, during which time he began investigating the incident. Ji Jin Hee co-stars with a slew of other South Korean actors in this show. The show’s fans have been clamoring for a second season for a while now, and with good reason: the previous one was very successful.

Designated Survivor: 60 Days Season 1 Review
Released in 2016, the first season of Designated Survivor was an exhilarating, adrenaline-charged series, soaked in sweat-inducing set pieces and propped up with unforeseen twists and turns that took the finest aspects of 24 and ran with them. I had my doubts that a Korean remake based on the original series could live up to its reputation when it was first announced.
While there is undoubtedly dramatic tension, the program never quite reaches the heights of its potential since so many of the same story beats are repeated. The backdrop and the people in 60 Days are what really make the program stand out and make it a pleasure to watch all the way through to the satisfying conclusion.
