My Name Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Storyline, Trailer Release, and Everything You Need to Know

The new Korean series My Name has been a hit with Netflix customers ever since it became accessible to watch online. Those who have seen all eight episodes, however, are left wondering what to do with themselves now that the exciting adventure is over. They immediately began looking for information on season 2 of My Name. When will we get to meet Yoon Ji-woo again?

That’s what we’re hoping! We enjoyed seeing Yoon Ji-woo pursue vengeance against those responsible for her father’s death since the series had such a dark and frightening atmosphere. A plot of vengeance is always entertaining. It was refreshing to see a woman in a leadership role. Yoon Ji-woo was single-minded in her pursuit of her goal, and nothing could deter her.

Will there be a season two of “My Name?” We discussed the second season of My Name, including our expectations for its premiere, the show’s characters, a description, and more.

My Name Season 2 Renewal Status

As of yet, Netflix has not picked up ‘My Name’ for a second season. Even while “My Name” wasn’t as huge a hit as “Squid Game,” it still received a lot of coverage all around the globe.

Over 80 nations included “My Name” in their top 10 charts. For many days, it was the most popular article in both the UK and the US. Following the popularity of Squid Game, “My Name” has become one of Netflix’s most popular Asian original series to date, topping the charts in many countries throughout Asia.

All of these things bode well. However, Netflix has been known to pull the plug on shows despite stellar ratings in the past. There was a clear conclusion to the first season, and there may be no intentions to continue the series. Until Netflix made their formal announcement, it was all we could do.

My Name Season 2 Release Date

Netflix has not yet said if they would cancel or continue airing the hit original series. Since Netflix hasn’t made a final choice as of yet, we’re still holding out hope. The release date for the criminal thriller was October 15th. Usually, Netflix takes about a month to decide whether or not to renew a show.

Remember that if Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger or the protagonist didn’t achieve their objective, Season 2 would be feasible. No untied ends could be tolerated. The first season concluded with no unresolved plot threads, making season two very improbable.

My Name Story

Yoon Ji Woo, the progenitor of my name, was once teased on her birthday since she was the daughter of a hooligan. And just when she thinks things can’t get much worse, her father dies right in front of her. She sets out to find Choi Moo Jin in order to exact her vengeance. Moo Jin recruits her into the gang by telling her that he knew her father well.

He facilitates her covert operation and provides training among his troops. He further encourages her to become part of the force by revealing that a police officer murdered his father. After some time has passed, we find out that Ji Woo is now the officer Oh Hye Jin. She eventually joins the drugs squad as a new officer. Ji Woo, who acts as both an officer and Mu-jin’s informant, never lets go of his desire for vengeance.

She goes through a series of incidents, including being assaulted by a former gang member who is insecure and envious, throughout the course of an inquiry into a narcotics case. And the other cop finds out who she really is. However, it does reveal some startling details regarding her father and Mu Jin. Even though she was able to exact her vengeance, she ended up turning into the very monster the true villain had feared she would.

My Name Season 2 Plot

The chances of their being a third season are very low. Sorry. Several factors contribute to this conclusion. The first is that the story was rushed through, with Ji Woo being thrust through years’ worth of storyline development in only eight episodes. The tale is resolved by the conclusion of the series (spoilers ahead) to the point that an epilogue is provided for the important events.

Another problem is that most K-dramas need some adjustment on the part of Western viewers. Korean dramas, in contrast to their American counterparts, often only last for one season before ending. Regardless of the actual episode count, every tale is concluded. As a result, the most pertinent issue is not “will it have a second season?” but rather “should it?”

My Name Season 2 Trailer

The first order of business is to have the program renewed. It then moves on to the production and editing phases. There will be no end to the waiting without a formal renewal. A month before to the launch, trailers are often published.

A trailer for the upcoming season would likely be published in 2023 if the program is renewed and production starts in the near future. When more details become available, we will post them here. In the meanwhile, here’s a trailer for Season 1.
