In the coming years the Star Wars universe will be expanded by the arrival of an avalanche of new TV series, from Ahsoka Tano to Obi-Wan Kenobi, but we must not forget that Lucasfilm is working on several projects also on the cinema front. So let's go to the discovery of all Star Wars movies in development.
The first in order of release is Rogue Squadron, a film directed by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) that will debut in theaters in December 2023. The plot in detail is still unknown, but according to the official synopsis, the film "will introduce a new generation of starfighter pilots, committed to earning respect. as they risk their lives on a thrilling journey at high speed, taking the saga into the future era of the galaxy. " The director also confirmed that it will be a completely original story.
Disney then set the arrival of two Star Wars movies in December 2025 and 2027, slots that could be assigned to respectively projects of Kevin Feige and Taika Waititi. The former will see Marvel Studios president in production alongside Lucafilm boss Kathleen Kennedy, while the latter will be directed by the director of Jojo Rabbit and Thor: Love and Thunder. Unfortunately, no details have been released on either film at the moment.
Finally, there remains the Rian Johnson trilogy (The Last Jedi), whose development was announced several years ago but of which nothing has been known. When many admirers of the director of Knives Out had lost hope of seeing him again at the helm of a new chapter in the franchise, however, last February came the confirmation that the project is still in the works despite the absence of a release date.
