Gotham City has a new Dark Knight and he’s the cutest little dude you’ve ever seen arrived. The latest version of Batman is the most adorable cape-wearing vigilante you’ve ever laid eyes on. In Warner Bros.’ animated family comedy Merry Little Batman, he arrives just before Christmas.
Joining Willy Wonka in December is the cape-wearing crusader, who has ushered in the festive season ahead of schedule. “Merry Little Batman,” DC’s newest take on Batman, will debut upon Amazon Prime Video upon December 8, 2023, as a special pre-Christmas animated feature.
In the video, we see Batman, his son Damian Wayne, the Joker (obviously), and a slew of other DC Universe heroes and villains, all of whom get up to some hilarious mischief.
Damian will be home alone on Christmas Eve because Batman must face Gotham’s supervillains. Like his famous father before him, the future hero must now confront the Joker’s peculiar plan to steal Christmas from the public and come to the rescue of the cherished city’s inhabitants.
Furthermore, Merry Little Batman’s official poster has debuted, offering a glimpse of a youthful Damian Wayne’s metamorphosis into the eponymous Dark Knight.
One of the special’s supervillains is also hinted at in the clip. Prime Video subscribers in over 240 countries and territories will be the first to see the film when it premieres on December 8.

Merry Little Batman (Movie 2023) Storyline:
Animation meets action in Merry Little Batman. Damian Wayne, son of Bruce Wayne, finds himself stranded in Wayne Manor on his own in the film.
He assumes the persona of Little Batman to protect Gotham City from the criminals and supervillains while also ensuring the continuation of the festive season.
“It is an animation family action comedy destined to become part of the rogue’s galleries of classic holiday movies,” states the blurb. “The criminals and supervillains out to ruin the holidays find young Damian Wayne all alone in Wayne Manor of Christmas Eve. To protect his family and Gotham City, he must assume the identity of “Little Batman.””
The script for Merry Little Batman was co-written by Jase Ricci of Batman: The Doom Came to Gotham and Morgan Evans of Teen Titans Go!, and it was directed by Mike Roth.
Luke Wilson, Yonas Kibreab, James Cromwell, & David Hornsby are among the voice actors set to appear in the special. The voice recording sessions were finished before the SAG-AFTRA strike. Ricci & Sam Register served as executive producers as well.
The enduring legacy of Batman: The Animated Show as an innovative superhero program is well-known. The three-season TV series, which was produced by Bruce Timm & Eric Radomski, has garnered a lot of accolades for its intricate themes, narrative style, and overall ‘noir’ vibe.
Rumor has it that Batman: Caped Crusader will pay homage to this beloved 90s series, and the fact that Bruce Timm will be serving as showrunner for the new series is certainly a plus.
Damian Wayne was created by Grant Morrison & Andy Kubert. In 2006’s Batman, Damian was added to DC’s main canon. He is the grandson of Ra’s al Ghul and the son of Batman/Bruce Wayne & Talia al Ghul.
With Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, & Stephanie Brown already in the cast, he becomes the sixth character to play Robin. Andy Muschietti, director of The Flash, will be directing the forthcoming live-action feature The Brave & the Bold, which will include Damian, who has been in a number of animated features previously.
