The Culprit Hanzawa Season 2 Storyline:
The animated dark comedy miniseries is based on the characters and stories created by Gosho Aoyama. The protagonist of the story is Hanzawa, a mysterious figure whose appearance is defined only by his eyes and lips.
Beika Town has the highest crime rate in the world, and his cryptic behavior is meant to symbolize the mysterious criminals who lurk about it.
I find it intriguing that we get to view the narrative through the eyes of someone who may be a serial murderer. Rather of trying to present the protagonist as sympathetic or evil, the program focuses on making him appear mad, which adds to the intrigue.
Hanzawa thinks Beika is the perfect spot to kill his victim and cement his reputation as a master crook. Still, Aoyama pulls off an inconceivable feat, considering the concept. He makes it comedic. The show’s soundtrack is also noteworthy for how well it fits the show’s topic and the protagonist’s personality.
Despite his best efforts, Hanzawa is clumsy, stupid, and lacks courage, and he almost always messes up whatever predicament he finds himself in while pursuing his strange desire.
The bigger metropolis and its more experienced and intense crooks catch him every time, yet it’s funny to laugh at his mistakes nevertheless.
Since the program puts us in Hanzawa’s shoes, it’s plausible to assume that his perspective may distort the events on screen, lending credence to the theory that he is an unreliable narrator or protagonist.
The man looks to be neurotic and hallucinating. For example, Hanzawa gets easily agitated about little things, like other people’s opinions of him, and he gets scared over seemingly insignificant events.
But he fools himself and the audience into thinking he can kill, which makes for some funny contrast in the act. Hanzawa amplifies this comic contrast by flitting between emotions on the fly.
Envision a criminal that is really vicious, but his methods are hilarious. Such a guy is at the center of The Culprit Hanzawa. It has always been Hanzawa’s dream to live the life of a criminal.
That is why he intends to get his first kill in most savage manner imaginable. The guy Hanzawa is seeking is mysterious and intriguing in character.
The outcome of his search for him or Hanzawa’s attempt to kill him is something that everyone is curious about. His threats to kill him in every heinous manner imaginable will keep you glued to your seat.
Hanzawa ends himself in a community where criminals are allowed to do as they want. The legal system is still set up to allow crime to flow freely, and there are no laws in that place.
With the intention of mercilessly murdering that mysterious guy, he travels to Beika Town in pursuit of him. Here, however, is where things become interesting: Hanzawa wears a mask in his everyday life. He would like it if others would regard him as a real threat. Despite his ruthlessness, Hanzawa’s human side is often on display.
