We know that numerous Hollywood stars auditioned to appear in the latest sequel trilogy Star Wars and now we also know that among these there was also Michael B. Jordan. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he auditioned for a part in it The Awakening of the Force per J.J. Abrams, but that went very badly.
During the Just for Variety with Marc Malkin podcast, Jordan revealed that he auditioned for JJ Abrams for a part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but also that that audition turned out to be the worst of his career. “I think I haven’t been able to concentrate fully because when you work on these top-notch projects they don’t tell you much specific. Everything is very vague, everything is a secret. While reading I could not connect, for sure I failed“.
For the Star Wars auditions, we know that extreme secrecy measures were taken, as John Boyega also told about his casting process for the part of Finn: “I went through about seven months of auditions. A bit like X Factor but without the whole show behind it. It was really intensive“.
In addition to Michael B. Jordan, Tom Holland also said he did badly at the auditions for Star Wars: “I remember doing this scene with a girl, someone bless her, and she was just a drone. So I would say my lines, like, ‘We have to get on the shuttle immediately!’ and she just said ‘Bleep, bloop bloop, bleep bloop’. I couldn’t stop laughing. And I felt terrible because she was just doing her job and it’s hard to look like an android or a drone or whatever they called her for.“.
Michael B. Jordan is on Amazon Prime Video with his latest film, Without Remorse directed by Stefano Sollima.
