Business Lunch with Warren Buffett Costs an Anonymous Bidder $4.6m

An anonymous bidder has made a bid of $4.6 million to have a business lunch with the respected and successful investor, Warren Buffett.

In a charity auction on Friday for a lunch with the world’s third richest man, the anonymous investor made a bid of $4,567,888 to win the bid.

The bid amount will be donated to Glide, a charity organization that was established for poverty and homelessness alleviation in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This is a tradition that has been for some years. The dinner can bring up to his or her seven friends to have a meal with Mr. Buffet at a steakhouse in New York, Smith & Wollensky. The meal will be hosted by eBay, an online marketplace.

The bidder saw off competition from four other individuals who were keen on having a business lunch with the renowned investor in what is tagged “power lunch.”

Bidding started at $25,000 and increased astronomically as the bidders tried to outdo each other. In less than 12 hours of bidding, the bid amount has surpassed $3.5 million.

This is the highest bid that has ever been set for a business meal with a flourishing investor. The previous record of $3.6 million was paid in 2012 and 2016 before it was eventually broke on Sunday.
